It must be racism...
I am simply appalled.
In this day and age, WHEN will officers learn that it is simply unacceptable to arrest and restrain black people? What makes the story of a police officer punching a restrained detainee even worse is that she was a WOMAN AND A MOTHER! What was this officer thinking?
Over the next day or so we are bound to hear the usual excuses: "You weren't there", "She was violent" blah blah blah. The simple truth is that you don't need to have been there to instantly grasp exactly what happened from just five seconds of footage on the morning news. You don't need to know the officers to know that the puncher is a white racist bully who does this sort of thing all the time. You don't need to know the woman to know she is a delicate and gentle soul who did not deserve this terrible beating.
In such cases, there is always dim possibility that the victim might turn out to have done something wrong. However, this particular woman was not only just out of her teens but also a loving mother, so I don't think that is very likely, do you?
And here, you can see the terrible results of the eight massive punches she was given...

WiseI have been lucky to serve alongside a real Police Force the old Royal Ulster Constabulary a different kettle of fish to the slovenly ill mannered wingers that pass as police officers in England. I and many I know have lost confidence in the police. I suspect it is a recruiting problem - they do seem to attract some very unstable types. And oh joy proof positive if any needed . watch the senior officer from Yorkshire police explaining the summary justice issued to a young woman - if that was not an officer promoted by default (a wonderful exhibition of immitating a half wit) the modern British way promote by acceptability over capability! I am beginning to think that these council appointed wardens are the future - at least you can see they look daft an avoid them.

oh my goodness - she looks terrible
08 March, 2007 12:29
The future of policing -
1 Six regional forces + Metropolitain
2. A dedicated training School national.
3. Officer for recruiting
4. ditto Admin, purchasing. National
5. Civilian elected Chief constables
6. External Investigating branch to investigate complaints, corruption etc.
We are often told that modern policing is complex and yet 43 Chief Constables wish to remain stuck in the past. (keeping horses when there are tanks on the battlefield 1922 army mentality) I suspect they are desperate to preserve their own status over the logic of modernising the police. Just think only six meaningless knighthoods a year! I do feel(just a smidgen) for the rank and file police officers who must be demoralised by appalling leadership.
With the obvious exception of that doyen of chief officers - the commisar of the uniform wing of the labour party formerly known as the Met or is it Bill.

Extraspecialcopper ! you wear that well tailored outfit and you think she looks terrible - Specsavers now!

Twenty first century police officer - 7 years old and still a crow. Make an effort for goodness sake and dont get caught sat at that computer when your supposed to be out bluffing the way somewhere. Fill the old notebook up with trivia (yellow line parking that sort of thing)Dont fall for that old "there is a car outside my house on yellow lines" you can bet your bottom dollar it is a burglary. you be laughed out of the force if you turned up at one of those early! By the way how come you are not on sick leave I thought it was every policemans right to go sick and do a bit of moonlighting. go for it work is enabling.

bleedin heck? whats going on with these comments? Slightly not to do with the issue methinks. I hear the sounds of axes grinding
08 March, 2007 15:21
Nice to see that some people are so convinced of the truth of their comments that they have to remain anonymous.
My view - the poor girl obviously suffered some deep traumatic injury to her arm, because she is now unable to dress properly.
Shame!!
08 March, 2007 15:41
Don't forgot, she was also found guilty of the original offence! Surely this act must therefore also be an example of "the police are simply picking on me 'cos I'm a former criminal"...

And of Course PC Bloggs is not anonymity Stan. Assuming you are a police officer once again proof positive of the standards required to join such a select band. I am sure you are at least heading for high rank. Moron!
08 March, 2007 19:11
Let me guess.
My taxes pay for this waste of rations to behave as she does? Bet the slapper has a bigger telly than me as well.
Last one to leave turn the lights off.

Anonymous - I have served good long years in both the British Army and the police, and worked with the RUC; and of course the Army never bluffed the way did they? they invented bluffing for goodness sake. The Army was full of REMF's and sick lame & lazy. Bandsmen getting NI medals etc etc
08 March, 2007 19:30
I see what you mean, the injuries are absolutely awful to think before this terrible assault she could have been a real looker.
08 March, 2007 19:31
Inspectorgadget -see I knew it a sane bugger at last stag on mate. THE ARMY invented bluffing -it was a more refined act of procrastinating in my time still standards do drop ! Nemo Me ... hope you know the rest.
08 March, 2007 19:59
Mr RUC person, I am a slovenly ill mannered winger that pass’s as a police officer in England too (what about Scotland & Wales!) and have also had the pleasure of working with my fine colleagues of the (ex) RUC.
Anyway ..back to the topic.
This classic phrase from her sums it up …
“"He should pay some compensation for what he did to me."”
And this classic….
Ms Comer said her epilepsy started when she was 17 and pregnant with her three-year-old son Tyrees. She doesn't take medication because of possible side effects if she wants more children.
She added: "I'd like to see an apology and for the police to be aware that these type of illnesses are around, because it can be mistaken for being drunk." Ohh really! Don’t tell the diversity people.
But this, to me provides reassurance to our front line officers:
“South Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Meredydd Hughes told Sky News he'd been horrified when he first saw the CCTV clip. However, he added he had now seen the whole footage and there was more to the case than first met the eye.”
Nice one Meredydd
08 March, 2007 20:36
PS. She was NOT found guilty, she pleaded
08 March, 2007 20:40
Why is there always some twat who feels the need to slag people off and hide by posting anonymously?
Slovenly ill mannered wingers?
In the word of Catherine tate "HOW VERY DARE YOU".
08 March, 2007 21:50
Innocent till proven guilty - I dont know all the facts, nor was I there - so no comment as such on the alleged excessive force or whatever its called - But have two comments kind of :
1. none of that would have happened if she wasnt breaking the law in the first place!!!! and
2. If, as said, she was out of control and lashing out at the police, why didnt any of the other officers that were there, help the officer that was being assaulted??? or were they and ive missed that???
08 March, 2007 22:11
I am most offended at the commenter who thinks PC E E Bloggs is not my real name. Gosh darn it.
08 March, 2007 23:04
Here's my usual two-penneth. Yeh from a MOP. If I was the owner of a motor vehicle which was damaged by some drunken mongrel, a vehicle which I had worked hard and paid for, I would expect that mongrel to get more than half a dozen wallops for her trouble. Yes I would hope they would be treated in the good old way to a severe 'oss-whipping'. This society should grow up and return to proper discipline as meted out in the times of our forbearers before we became the laughing stock of the world. I hide behind no man.
09 March, 2007 00:30
That brute nearly punched her eyebrows clean off. Shocking!
09 March, 2007 00:36
When she appeared on TV, she said she did not remember what happened. That way the BBC/SKY news etc. could not ask her any questions about her behaviour.
It would be interesting to see what she may have said in interview, (for criminal damage I assume she was)and in the interests of fair media reporting, I think we should all see the custody video. Some one suggested a fund to help the PC sue the newspaper/TV news. If legal action is a viable option, a fund could be a good idea.
09 March, 2007 01:38
Dear PC EE Blogs At least you have a sense of humour. And old inspector gadget seems a decent sort too - ex army - probably from one of the less "fashionable regiments" but what the heck. But what about that other "anonymous" surely a bad lot and I suspect one of yours, calling you a slapper and moaning about his taxes buying your telly - you could do without jumped up oicks like that on the force. Hi tech crime copper tried to tempt me into having a pop at the Welsh and the Jocks.. We had a mob with us wearing some kind of onion as a capstar never figured out if they were the gardeners or cooks! As for the Jocks well just look at the bloody neighbours they have to put up with .
MY LAST -thanks for all the work you do - out to you
09 March, 2007 04:47
Blast it - I said "out to you" WRONG. Just realised I forgot to wind my watch up last night - would you credit that!
09 March, 2007 05:02

Oh darn I got herre last!
09 March, 2007 17:20
"She now began to kick, spit and made attempts to bite me, as her hands became free she tried to grab handfuls of my genitals and knee and kick me in the same place.
"At this point I struck her as hard as I was physically able with my right fist in an attempt to subdue her. There was no effect so I did it twice more."
He added: "I released one of her arms in an attempt to get to my handcuffs to restrain her.
"This proved to be fruitless because as soon as she was released she again tried to grab my genitals and scratch me in the area of my eyes. I struck her again with no visible effect.
"I now struck her as hard as I was physically able in an attempt to deaden her arm in the bicep and upper shoulder area so that she could be restrained again.
"In the end I had to use brute force and both hands to bend her arm at the elbow to place her wrist in the cuff."
Anyone want to get off their soapbox now??
09 March, 2007 17:44
Five quid says all the "geddarealjob" Anonymouses are the same person. Excepting me of course. *looks shifty*.
09 March, 2007 20:07
The photo shown is best part of a year later.
She dented someone's car. That makes her a very bad girl. We all know that peeps with cars outside nightclubs can't afford insurance.
I'm certain further video will turn up showing her hitting the ossifer with her hand bag.
C'mon chaps. We all know that if a woman gives you scratch or two or hits you with such a lethal weapon, it's Perfectly acceptable to punch her repeatedly until she does what you want.
Hmmm?
09 March, 2007 21:07
Ehem? Is that sexism I hear knocking? (no pun intended). Women are just as capable of putting up a fight as men, thank you very much. Add to that the fact that she was pissed out of her mind and trying to pull the officer's genitals off and you have a perfectly good reason for self defence. She knocked the two of them down the stairs then tried to pull his genitals off. Scratch or two I don't think.
I am 16, female and mixed race and I think she was being a fucking twat. Police brutality it was not, racism it was not, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer it was.
09 March, 2007 21:16
I think that the public should be given all the facts and not just the small snippet of cctv that has been shown on the media.
But from what we have seen it looks bad, peeps don't want to believe that the police hit people if they don't behave.
09 March, 2007 22:41
Don't disagree she was been a (like what you said.) Or that she recognised he was a ...er he - despite being a pissed epileptic.
Just don't think it's right that a gang of fella's should look on while a bloke beats a woman into submission.
A fella highly trained in restraint at that. Nowt to do with sexism - big people shouldn't be clobberin' smaller people.
09 March, 2007 23:00
I'm disgusted that Google Blogger offers an Anonymous Radio Button option for comments, you would think that everyone would be most pleased to enter their full name, address, date of birth, etc. etc. and just so as every body knows exactly who I am I will leave an alias, Hows That, no that's it, Hows That.
10 March, 2007 03:28
Dear "disgusted"
Have you registered with the smoking inspectorate yet - please forward Bio,metrics (Imperial if over 50) and dabs (prints) to:

Well done for catching the UKs No 1 hood 35 million and not even an MP bloody shrewd cookie that one. How come he was found guilty - bet the judge was an old fart asleep on the bench ! No credit where credit due says I. However, hope you don't take the eye off the ball TB is still on the loose (married to a judge looks as though she does a bit of the old light fingered stuff down at Oxfam). TBs financial advisor could do with a touch of scrutiny too - his dabs are all over the money box.

Dear Anonymous, How dare you use Anonymous as your blog name, that's mine, hhah, every blog I visit now someone is using my very anonymous public blog face, just who are all these Anonymous's, at least I'm open about who exactly I am.
Anonymous
10 March, 2007 07:30
I remain anon just in case some enlightened Yorkshire policeman wants to call round and wallop the old memsab about a bit. All that dosh wasted on botox etc.
10 March, 2007 09:40
She's black, big deal, it most likely has nothing to do with it.
She committed a crime, she resisted arrest, she was subdued.
Next?
10 March, 2007 13:39
Why such a rash of anonymice?
Is it infectious?
11 March, 2007 13:35
Im a serving officer in England. On my last late turn set we were called to a disturbance in the High Street. It resulted in a 18 year old 5'5" female being arrested by my colleage for breach of bail. My colleague said the words and kindly asked her to accompany him to the Police vehicle. She refused the invitation in the only words that these people tend to comunicate with 'F... O.. You C...' My colleage placed his hand on her arm and asked her again. Her reply this time was to swing out towards him hitting him with her fist (oh well, Police get paid for that! Do we HELL!!) I garabed her by one arm him by the other. Now she starts to kick. Two more colleages arrive and we place her on the floor as this is the safest place for her and us. We manage to get her into handcuffs and yet she is still trying to bite, spit and kick us. (crist, 4 big policemen and one poor helpless 18 year old girl. how awfefull!) I try to restrain her legs until a cell van arrives, whilst doing so, i get kicked a number of times and manage to scrape my hand across the pavement causing me some cuts and scratches and to loose skin off my knuckles. Do you know what! Perhaps if I had punched her a number of times to the legs then this would not have happened......
Just for the record, the female I dealt with just happened to be white. and she would have got the same treatment should she have been black, indian, chinese, muslim, jew, devil worshiper, straight, gay, transgender or anything else! and its the same for 99.999% of other coppers out there including the officer who arrested the female on CCTV. Perhaps people should be less fixated on trying to count the precise number of times that the officer stiked her and more on her hitting him causing his hat to fly off, then violently resisting arrest after the officer has tried to use [ersuasion, advice and im sure, warning. Maybe that says something about her attitude and frame of mind that evening.
Im truely saddened and sickened to see that this officer has become yet another victim of a Police Organisation, government and country who will not back him up because its easier to sacrifice him than it is to take a stance and say "Well to hell with it, he is a Police officer and she is a criminal and if the officer says it was reasonable force then it was indeed reasonable force".
12 March, 2007 05:27
Well said anonymous!
